As you are aware, the Alumni Association of DCE, a registered body of DCE graduates, organizes an Annual Alumni Meet every year in the month of February. These Annual Meets have been attracting a large gathering of our Alumni and their family members from various cities of India as well as abroad and provide an excellent platform for networking and meeting old friends.This year the Annual Meet is being organized on 9th February (Saturday), 2013 at FICCI Auditorium, Tansen Marg, New Delhi . We are expecting a gathering of about 1000 of our Alumni and their family members On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Association; it is my pleasure to invite you and your spouse to join the fellow DCEites on this occasion.

Request you to register for the meet as your early registration will help us in making requisite arrangements. I have a request to you to help us to Grow The DCE Alumni Network, by sharing the information with other fellow DCEites. The facility for Online submission of application and payment of membership fee has been provided on the website for this purpose.

As is the tradition, in this Annual Meet, Golden Jubilee (1963) and Silver Jubilee (1988) batch graduates who are members of the Association shall be felicitated. I request all DCEites, who are still not the members of Alumni Association to go to the membership option on the website and apply for membership of the Association. In addition to above, the Distinguished Alumni Awards, Distinguished Faculty Awards and Meritorious Student Awards shall also be presented. A Hasya Kavi Samelan will also be organize on this occasion. The function will be followed by informal get-together and dinner.

The Distinguished Faculty Awards last year in 2012 were awarded to Dr. A. B. Mathur from the Math Department. Dr. Mathur joined DCE in 1970. The second award was given to Dr. B. P. Reddy from Mechanical Department. Dr. Reddy was with DCE from 1968 to 1984.

The distinguished alumni who were honored in 2012 were Sh. S. A. Bhardwaj (1970 batch, Mech. Engg.), Director Technical) NPCIL and Sh. A. K. Purwaha (1976 batch, Electrical Engg.), CMD Engineers India Ltd.

Further, I wish to inform that after opening first Chapter of the Association at Haridwar, a second Chapter was inaugurated at Mumbai on 9th January, 2013. We received an overwhelming response with 93 alumni making it to the first meet held at MIG Club, Bandra. We are now planning to open more Chapters of the Association in other major cities of the country and request you to come forward in this regard. This will go a long way in involving more and more DCEites and further strengthen the Association in pursuing its objectives. We are also looking for Batch Coordinators from each batch.
